Kate Gosselin, who once had a bustling household with eight children, is now experiencing a significant change in her life. According to a recent report, she’s living on her own in her Troutman, North Carolina, home after her remaining children have moved out to pursue their own paths, leaving her as an empty nester.
The four sextuplets who were in her care, Aaden, Alexis, Leah, and Joel, are all now 19 years old. Collin and Hannah, the other two sextuplets, live with their father, Jon Gosselin. Collin has embarked on a journey with the U.S. Marine Corps. after graduating from high school, while Hannah is pursuing her studies as a business major at the University of Miami. The older twins, Mady and Cara, aged 23, have graduated from Syracuse University and Fordham University in New York in 2023 and are starting their careers in the Big Apple.
Kate, 48, and her children previously resided in a one-story waterfront property that she purchased in April 2018. The home featured four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a private pier and dock for a boat, a pool, a hot tub, and an extended garage. With her children now moved out, she has ample extra space under her roof.
The former TLC reality star has faced financial challenges after leaving reality TV, and it’s uncertain if she will return to nursing, although she acquired a “multi-state” nursing license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing on June 30, 2021.
According to an insider, Kate is living paycheck to paycheck and admitted to borrowing $100,000 from her kids’ trust fund to make ends meet. The source noted that Kate’s lifestyle has changed significantly, with no glam squad in the picture, and she spends a lot of time at home, watching TV.
